Here’s a quick question the folks at The Salt Lake Tribune: Can you imagine picking up a copy of The Boston Globe and reading this headline, “Trump taps Catholic as new national security adviser?”
I’m pretty sure your answer is “no,” as well it should be.
So why do I have to read this headline in the Thursday edition of The Tribune, “Trump taps Latter-day Saint as new national security adviser?”
What is the relevance of O'Brien’s religion? I submit there is none.
This is exactly the sort of Mormon-centric, slanted news coverage that crops up regularly in your paper. And, in case you still don’t get it, I further submit that it’s what’s driving people like Don Pyke (The Public Forum, Sept. 19) to cancel their subscriptions.
I’m hopeful that you’ll recognize — and correct — the error of your ways before I’m forced to follow Mr. Pyke’s lead.
