I’ve seen barrels of ink spilled across acres of paper on the subject of the surge in firearm violence in this country, but I have seen only one editorial and one letter which even touched on the real cause: The Republican Party has sold what passes for its soul to the National Rifle Association.
Every Republican politician knows how much campaign cash they will lose for the next election if they cross the NRA. As reelection is the highest goal of most politicians, Republican politicians have become slaves to the NRA.
Fact: If you vote for a Republican, you are voting for the NRA, and you are voting to continue the slaughter. The only way to stop the slaughter is to stop voting for Republicans who obey the NRA.
It’s that simple.
