Letter: When will we see through Trump’s con job?

Donald Trump has recently enlightened us. He has proclaimed himself to be “the least racist person there is anywhere in the world.”

This grand untruth, among the thousands of others (all documented) Trump has spewed since

elected, fits a familiar pattern:

1. It benefits him.

2. There is no evidence to back it up.

3. It goes against observable data and conflicts with reality.

4. It goes largely unchallenged, especially by the Trump “flock” and the GOP.

5. It is outlandish.

6. It is delusional.

7. It insults the intelligence of those who are expected to believe it.

8. It’s said with a straight face and no evidence of remorse, admission of guilt or apology.

A definition of a con man is: a man who cheats or tricks someone by gaining their trust and persuading them to believe something that is not true.

As of Aug. 5, the Washington Post’s Fact Checker column reported just over 12,000 documented Trump untruths since the election; 13 untrue claims on each of the 928 days of his presidency.

While Trump never was Michigan’s Man of the Year (a recent lie he repeated at least five times in the past) he certainly qualifies for the most Prolific “Presidential” Prevaricator in history. How embarrassing.

When do the American people see through the blatant attempt to con them? Where is the outrage? Why the tolerance of this continued behavior by the “leader” of our country?
