Letter: The big boy in the White House
(Evan Vucci | AP file photo) President Donald Trump speaks about the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, in the Diplomatic Reception Room of the White House, Monday, Aug. 5, 2019, in Washington.
In an Aug. 7 letter to the editor, Jonna Ramey suggests white parents teach their teen and young adult sons not to kill people with guns. Good idea.
However, I would suggest those parents begin even sooner to teach their boys that in life they won’t always get what they want, that they must frequently learn to live with disappointment and yet know this is not the end of the world, they can still move on.
Girls of necessity learn this lesson early, but it seems too many boys do not.
Just look at the big boy in the White House.
