Letter: It is time to do more than pray

(John Minchillo | AP Photo) A mourner leaves a makeshift memorial Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, for the slain and injured in the Oregon District after a mass shooting that occurred early Sunday morning, in Dayton.

I do appreciate the thoughts and prayers from the politicians of all parties. I just wonder how long until we start seeing results?

People keep being killed and still fear going to the store or out in public in spite of all the praying.

Maybe it is finally time to do more than pray.

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
