What is wrong with our Congress, especially our very own Sen. Mike Lee, who blocked a vote on funding assistance for the 9/11 first responders? Yet he and the guy from Kentucky voted for a tax break that has now almost doubled our debt.
So your response to people who sacrificed themselves for this country is “Tough, you’re on your own. Thanks for your service, but don’t look to your government for help.”
What kind of message does this send to our children? Don’t be a sucker and get involved, because your government will not have your back. These guys should be totally ashamed of themselves to not pass a bill that every American is behind, except for these two idiots.
The people of Utah and Kentucky should wake up and decide whether they want these guys representing their state, turning their backs on people who would have gone out of their way for them.
I was always taught that we help our neighbors when they are in trouble. Mike Lee and Rand Paul, these are our neighbors, they need our help. They sacrificed for us, so we should in turn take care of these people and their families.
Maybe the next time there is a national disaster that might affect your states, we Americans should show you as much compassion as you have shown these families. Because we all know, the Republican Party is supposed to be the family values party. Or is it? These guys are no representatives of such values.
