Letter: Now it is up to Congress
(Cliff Owen | The Associated Press) Special Counsel Robert Mueller walks to his car after attending services at St. John's Episcopal Church, across from the White House, in Washington, Sunday, March 24, 2019. Mueller closed his long and contentious Russia investigation with no new charges, ending the probe that has cast a dark shadow over Donald Trump's presidency.
Thank you, Mr. Robert Mueller, for your service to the country, the Constitution, and the truth. Now comes the inevitable Twitter tantrum.
But, for those who either weren’t there or don’t remember, it wasn’t the crime or the cover-up or even the special counsel that brought Richard Nixon to justice. It was the congressional hearings and investigations.
And that process is just beginning, now that President Trump’s gutless lap dogs on Capitol Hill no longer have the monopoly necessary to silence everyone else.
