Letter: Salt Lake City mayor’s chief of staff, Patrick Leary, should consider running
(Al Hartmann | Tribune file photo) Salt Lake City Mayor-elect Jackie Biskupski talks with Patrick Leary, her chief of staff, in her temporary fourth floor office in the City-County building in Salt Lake City on Dec. 28, 2016.
My wife and I were disappointed to learn of Jackie Biskupski’s decision not to run again for Salt Lake City mayor. Even though we live in Ogden, we have heard her speak at various events and have followed her as she has done a wonderful job as mayor.
We have also heard her chief of staff, Patrick Leary, speak at various events. To us, Leary’s background as chief of staff to Biskupski, and jobs prior to working for the mayor, speak volumes for the job he would do as Salt Lake City mayor. We hope Mr. Leary will consider a run for mayor.
