I believe it should be a requirement for every person who runs for public office to read “The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” and “The Nightmare Years” by William Shirer.
These books show the recipe of how totalitarianism starts, takes root and destroys a social order. They are chilling reads, especially when one considers the similarities with current times in America and the spread of lies, hate and divisiveness by some people.
The way it looks to me, the Trump administration is up to about the third chapter. It will take some great statesmen and leadership to steer the American ship of state away from the cliff that they are flying us into. This morally and intellectually bankrupt regime could bring about the end of the great American experiment.
