Letter: Let cops buy their own body cams. You know, like teachers

(Steve Griffin | The Salt Lake Tribune) West Valley City Police officer Michelle Shepherd wears her new body camera, for the first time, on her sun glasses, in West Valley City, Monday, March 2, 2015.

While body cams may not be priced into the budget of the Unified Police, there's no reason the police shouldn't be able to provide them themselves.

Teachers regularly carry the cost of school supplies from their own pockets, and they are also public servants.
