Letter: Reading LDS Church updates in the news

(Scott Sommerdorf | Tribune file photo) The Salt Lake LDS Temple and the Utah State Capitol are seen together, Wednesday, July 26, 2017.

Mormon boys can now advance through the priesthood ranks the year they turn 12. Sister missionaries may now wear pants. Deceased women don’t need a veil pulled over their face before the casket is closed.

If members need to get these announcements from the newspaper, they're certainly not attending or paying attention in their meetings.

Scott Perry, Salt Lake City
