Letter: Our homegrown senator is a disappointment

(Jacquelyn Martin | The Associated Press) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, left, speaks with Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, during the Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, on Capitol Hill, Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, in Washington.

Our attempt at a homegrown (non-carpetbagger) senator is not turning out very successfully. The main traits Sen. Mike Lee, as well as most Utah Republicans, seems to aspire to is their unbridled ambition coupled with an absolute determination to keep a large percentage of Utahns from having any say whatsoever in their governance.
