Letter: Thank you for calling out Chaffetz
(Leah Hogsten | The Salt Lake Tribune) 3rd Congressional District candidate Jason Chaffetz, with wife Julie, won the nominee with 87% of the votes at the Utah Republican Party 2014 Nominating Convention at the South Towne Expo Center, Saturday, April 26, 2014.
Thank you to The Salt Lake Tribune Editorial Board and Michelle Quist for calling out Jason Chaffetz and his attempt to use the death of a 7-year-old refugee Guatemalan girl for political purposes.
"Our" college placekicker turned Congressman turned Fox "News" pundit has once again shown he lacks basic human decency. Quist correctly labeled Chaffetz as "an embarrassment to Utah."
Word has it Jason may be eyeing Utah's governorship as his next gig. The last thing we need in the governor's mansion is a xenophobic conspiracy theorist like Chaffetz.
Should he decide to run, I urge all Utahans to vote for someone else. Anyone else.
