Letter: No concern for presidential integrity

(Julie Jacobson | The Associated Press) In this Nov. 29, 2018, file photo, Michael Cohen walks out of federal court in New York. The moment of reckoning has nearly arrived for Cohen, who finds out Wednesday, Dec. 12, whether his decision to walk away from President Donald Trump after years of unwavering loyalty will spare him from a harsh prison sentence.

National politicians, including some of our own, ask us to ignore testimony from Michael Cohen, Donald Trump’s former lawyer, regarding payments made and allegedly authorized by Trump to two women for their silence about past affairs. Their justification, showing no concern for the loss of presidential integrity, is our robust economy and then, perhaps the greatest of ironies, their protest that Cohen is a liar!
