Letter: What happened to the ‘lamp beside the golden door’?

Our president is sending 15,000 of our finest to protect us from possibly 4,000 to 7,000 people fleeing from very dangerous and unstable countries. Think about what it would take to get you to walk thousands of miles from your home.

What happened to “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me”?

Apparently, the lamp beside the golden door has been extinguished.
