We think that The Salt Lake Tribune Editorial Board's "Love in the 4th" has missed the most important point in this year's elections.
The current Congress has completely abdicated its responsibility of acting as a check and balance on the executive branch. If the Republican Party maintains its majority in the House, the president will continue to lie to the American people and, we fear, expand his powers in ways that threaten our democracy. In addition, Mia Love's record of voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act would have harmed millions of people by ending the coverage of their pre-existing conditions.
