Letter: Hatch was rude and demeaning

I watched Sen. Orrin Hatch’s dismissive reaction to women in the Capitol. The women were protesting the insensitivity to their pain from assault experiences shown by members of Congress. Great numbers of women who have suffered in a way few men ever have. Their pain is real. Their pain is compounded by the careless rejection they are feeling from The Old White Men’s Club.
Hatch is ostensibly my government representative from Utah. What a shame. I suggest that he could use an assault of his own to help him develop a scintilla of sympathy and compassion, which he appears to lack. His wave "bye-bye" was especially rude and demeaning. His own special way of saying, "I don't give a care.”
