Letter: Salt Lake City’s growth is boring and bland
(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune)
Summit Vista under construction, Wednesday Sept. 5, 2018. Summit Vista in Taylorsville is Utah's only "life plan community," a highly social form of apartment dwelling combined with assisted living for seniors, on a 105-acre parcel built around a massive clubhouse.

I just returned from a week in Portland. Like here, apartment construction is running rampant.
The difference there is that they have a variety of interesting, creative architectural designs (not just boxes with notches and extended roofs) and a color palette that extends beyond ecru, bone, sand and ivory. It seems our new construction is in keeping with our generic blue-eyed-blond motif.
