Letter: How far will Trump followers go to deny their mistake?

(AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais) President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump walk across the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, to board Marine One helicopter for a short trip to Andrews Air Force Base, Md., en route to Columbus, Ohio.

After I read the letter by Ray Astin, “Who’s not colluding?,” I was surprised (not) that there are people who would still defend President Donald Trump and his “fake news” claims.

Like the robber who has to lie about all the money he now has, and now has to eliminate the ones he lied to and questioned his lies, and has to lie about how they disappeared, and has to lie about where he was at the time of their disappearance, and has to have others lie for him —

this is the Trump administration.

The followers, with their lack of humility and excess of pride, continue to defend a lying, adulterous, treasonous, fraudulent wreck of a president for the sake or betterment of what, exactly? How far down the rat hole will his followers go, before they can admit, to anyone, Trump is a mistake?
