Letter: Where have we heard these criticisms of the press before? Oh yeah — Hitler.

Here is a famous quote about the press:

“It is the press, above all, which wages a positively fanatical and slanderous struggle, tearing down everything which can be regarded as a support of national independence, cultural elevation, and the economic independence of the nation.”

The writer hated the press because it stood in his way and challenged him. It was written by Adolf Hitler in his book “Mein Kampf” in 1924.
