Letter: The Tribune keeps us informed
(Trent Nelson | The Salt Lake Tribune)
Paul Huntsman, owner of The Salt Lake Tribune, addresses staff members, Tuesday May 8, 2018.
In response to Rodney Johnson’s “The Tribune is in denial” May 20 letter concerning the readership, I would like to say that The Tribune seems to be a newspaper that believes in freedom of the press — not in hiding, but giving opinions, whether it’s the staff’s or someone else’s — and reports from both sides of the issues regardless of whether we agree with it. It’s understandable that the paper needs to be profitable to survive and is making changes, but it has also shown responsibility and has been beneficial in keeping us truly and honestly informed.
Keep on doing what you’re doing, Tribune, from a loyal patron.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
