Letter: Instead of speaking ‘out of turn,’ Sen. Hatch, please just go quietly into the night

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, looks on during news conference Wednesday, May 2, 2018, in Salt Lake City. Hatch, who is retiring, is looking to cement his legacy after more than 40 years in Washington as he unveils plans for a think tank and library bearing his name in Salt Lake City. Why? Why do you say such things, Sen. Orrin Hatch? If I keep shaking my head over such statements, my head just might come unhinged. Sen. John McCain has every right to request that President Trump stay away from his funeral.

Trump, otherwise known as that “fine man,” as you put it, has said some rather nasty things about McCain. Trump is, actually, a rather nasty man.

You, Sen. Hatch, would best be served to go quietly into the night. You carpetbagged your way into representing us in this one-party state and have ever so graciously paved the way for yet another carpetbagger. Please, just go quietly. Stop speaking “out of turn,” as your staff so eloquently put it.
