I am a veteran and a PEER specialist (WOC) at the Salt Lake City Veterans Hospital and receive all my health care at the VA.
I myself have never encountered a dirty room like the veteran did last week, but before everyone starts to slam the VA over this incident, I have a question. Why wasn’t this veteran a little more pro-active when it came to his own health care?
No, this should have never happened but I believe before you go pointing fingers, stop and think about it. I would have refused to go into the room.
From my experience with veterans, there are some who complain constantly of how horrible the VA is and would love to have an opportunity to blast the VA over anything.
In closing, I’d like to thank the VA for the great job it does.
