Letter: To opposing sides set to rally on gun issues in Salt Lake City: Be courteous

On March 24, “March for our Lives” will trek from West High School to the state Capitol to commemorate the people murdered in Florida and call for some kind of gun control.

The same morning, according to The Tribune (March 18), our gun totin’ friends will rally against any kind of restrictions on guns and gun ownership. All heavily and legally armed.

Confrontations will surely ensue. I ask all of us: Have a spirited but courteous debate. No rudeness. Pro-gun folks, no aggression or intimidation. Anti-gun, no antagonizing or provoking them on the other side of the line.

Shake hands and maybe hug, then go back down the hill and talk over coffee.

In the immortal words of Rodney King, “Can we all get along?”
