Letter: Shireen Ghorbani is everything Rep. Stewart isn’t — in a nutshell, good for Utah

Shireen Ghorbani

There’s a stark difference between Rep. Chris Stewart and one of his challengers, Shireen Ghorbani.

Stewart is a corporate shill who consistently supports Big Money’s agenda at our expense. Examples: Stewart voted to sabotage the ACA, causing millions to lose health insurance and the rest of us to pay more for coverage. Stewart wants to slash Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and other vital programs. He supported shrinking our national monuments to open our irreplaceable public lands to his campaign donors in the extractive industries. And on and on, ad nauseam. Stewart does not listen to us nor represent us.

By contrast, Shireen Ghorbani’s values are inspiring. She’s a deeply concerned receptive listener. Ghorbani understands our needs and will be a powerful voice for our interests. She supports affordable health care for all and expanding access to health care in rural communities. She’ll work hard to protect Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and people-centered programs. She’ll support working people by striving to raise the minimum wage and investing in infrastructure.

Ghorbani supports protecting our treasured public lands for all to enjoy and to boost Utah’s growing tourism economy. And much more. To learn about this candidate, visit shireenforcongress.com and her Facebook page.
