Letter: I guess Mormon Rules mean we won’t ticket the speeders

(Steve Griffin | The Salt Lake Tribune) Rep. Norm Thurston, R-Provo, talks about HB155 during the third reading of the bill that amends provisions related to driving under the influence during debate in the House of Representatives at the State Capitol in Salt Lake City Thursday February 23, 2017. The bill passed the House 48-26 and advances to the Senate.

The only reason why Utah lowered the blood alcohol level from .08 to .05 is to save lives.

Now that we have established that fact, let us take camera photos and send tickets to the low-lifers who are traveling in the HOV lanes without paying for a permit.

How about connecting the dots above and taking photos of the cars that are speeding on the freeway and sending them a ticket also. Oh, wait a minute. Using Mormon Rules it isn’t a sin until you get caught. At least that’s what I have observed for the last 30 years.

We could save hundreds more lives by photo ticketing speeders than we can by busting drivers with blood alcohol between .05 an .08. If it’s all about saving lives why don’t we do this? What is wrong with this picture?
