Letter: There is evidence of collusion, Rep. Stewart — try again

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Congressman Chris Stewart visits the majority caucus meeting where he compares President Trump to Rodney Dangerfield, but says he is a Ôhuge convertÕ to leader he once called Ôour Mussolini, Õ on day two of the 2018 legislative session on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018.

On March 12, Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee called it quits. They decided there is no point in continuing the “investigation” into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election now that they alone have concluded that the Trump campaign did not conspire with the Russians. “The CIA just got it wrong,” proclaimed Utah Republican Chris Stewart in an interview with CNN where he tried to defend the GOP position. Just to be clear, the CIA, along with every other U.S. intelligence agency, now believes the Russian government is engaged in a cyberwar against us and its first major victory was the election of Donald Trump.

“Does anyone in the world believe that if there was evidence of collusion, that it would not have been leaked, under the circumstances that we’ve seen?” Stewart later asked Fox talking head Sean Hannity.

Yes, Mr. Stewart, I, for one, and millions of other Americans believe there is evidence of collusion because it is sitting out there in plain sight. That, along with evidence of an active coverup of illegal campaign contributions and money laundering.

So, congressman, before proclaiming someone’s “innocence,” I suggest you do a better job of finding the facts.
