Letter: Let’s test the good guy with a gun theory in halls of the NRA, Fox News and the White House

(Susan Walsh | The Associated Press) President Donald Trump, center, speaks in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington, Thursday, March 8, 2018, before signing two proclamations, one on steel imports and the other on aluminum imports. Standing with Trump are workers, left, Vice President Mike Pence, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross.

The NRA, Fox News, many in Congress and the president keep repeating, “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people,” and, “A good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun.” President Trump said, “Gun-free zones are the most dangerous places.”

Therefore, I propose a pilot program to test their theories. Eliminate gun-free zones and have more trained concealed weapon carriers in the halls of the NRA, the halls of Fox News, the halls of the White House and the halls of Congress before we implement their gun safety plan in the halls of our schools.
