Letter: Can’t we even talk about a solution to mass shootings?

(Gerald Herbert | The Associated Press) Organizers Cameron Kasky, left, and Jackie Corin, student survivors from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School address fellow students before boarding buses in Parkland, Fla., Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, to rally outside the state capitol. The students plan to hold a rally Wednesday in hopes that it will put pressure on the state's Republican-controlled Legislature to consider a sweeping package of gun-control laws, something some GOP lawmakers said Monday they would consider.

The Florida House voted down by a vote of 36 to 71 a procedural move to allow the body to even consider banning assault rifles and large-capacity magazines. They did this in front of survivors of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

How is this possible? They won’t even consider talking about some kind of solution to this horrible problem. Are these the legislators making America Great Again?
