Letter: It is ludicrous to blame the problems of society on guns

I am greatly saddened by the recent shooting in Florida. How can you not be when human beings commit such a tragedy on one another?

It is a fallacy to say that guns are the problem. It’s a human being problem. To outlaw guns would not solve the problem. Let’s use logic here. You should outlaw cars — they kill people. Outlaw spoons and forks — they make people overweight and die young. No more fast food places, too many people become addicted.

We, Americans, have had guns in our homes for over 200 years. The mass shootings have increased since society makes it a crime to discipline your child. Forty years ago almost every pickup truck in high school had a gun rack and a rifle or two in the window. It is absolutely ludicrous to blame the problems of society on an object. Like I said, it is a human being problem.
