Letter: Utah DWR ignores the public interest

| Courtesy Utah DWR Division of Wildlife Resources biologists are recommending an increase of 531 to 565 permits for the upcoming cougar hunt season. Regional Advisory Council meetings begin July 25 and will also consider bobcat recommendations.

Once again, the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources is proposing an increase in cougar hunting permits. It is evident that the only wildlife DWR approves of is that which does not prey upon or compete with livestock or big game animals. The public’s, and the cougars’ interests are routinely ignored.
