Letter: Dump Daylight Saving so I can stop resetting clocks

I am old enough to remember during World War II when we would set our time ahead in the spring to enable more work to be done during daylight hours. In the 1940s, most homes had one clock. Our house was typical. The clock hung on the kitchen wall and was electric. Resetting the time was simple and took little effort.

Fast forward to when we "fell back" this year. I just inventoried the devices that I had to reset in my house, and the count was 15. Now in my kitchen there is a battery-operated clock above the refrigerator (I need a small ladder) and the oven and microwave-oven clocks.

There are my TV recording devices and clocks in every room in the house, plus two bedroom clocks that defy me when I try to reset them. My electronic devices I reset, and then do it again because the gremlins won't allow them to be right the first try.

The benefit ratio for Daylight Saving Time for me is zip. More power to the legislators who agree with me.
