As former residents of Rose Park, we as a family regularly played golf at the Rose Park Golf Course. It is ideal because of location in the northwest part of Salt Lake City and also because it is close to residents who need recreational facilities. As others have commented, it is a walkable course. Also, if necessary because of health issues, older golfers can rent carts to cover the 18 holes.
More and more people are playing golf into their later years; it is a lifetime sport. Other courses which are appreciated because of their location and walkability are Forest Dale, Glendale and Nibley Park.
Will the mayor and city council please take these factors into account and not close at least the Rose Park golf course?
