The Salt Lake City mayor’s office is up for grabs this year, with a guarantee of new leadership after Mayor Jackie Biskupski’s surprise announcement in March that she would not be seeking reelection. Two of the eight candidates vying to replace her will emerge from the Aug. 13 primary election to face off in the general election on Nov. 5. The new mayor will take office in January 2020.
