(Screen grab from video courtesy Salt Lake City Public Utilities) Video taken Dec. 8, 2018, shows what Salt Lake City Public Utilities is a mountain lion and two cubs at a water treatment plant in City Creek Canyon.
Security video captured three mountain lions walking Saturday to a water treatment plant in City Creek Canyon.
Salt Lake City Public Utilities, which shared the video in a tweet, said the threesome appears to be a mother cougar and her cubs. A timestamp with the video showed it was taken at 5:53 p.m. Saturday.
The utility service also shared a link from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources that shares some facts about mountain lions and instructions on what to do if you encounter them. The instructions warn against running. Instead, they say, you should make yourself look bigger and intimidating, pick up any young children with you, and fight back if attacked.
