Nancy Pelosi filibusters for a record 8 hours and 10 minutes on the House floor. White House chief of staff Rob Porter resigns after spousal abuse allegations surface. Utah will bid for 2030 Olympics.

Happy Thursday. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spoke on the House floor for eight hours and 10 minutes Wednesday. That beats the previous record of five hours and 15 minutes set in 1909. Pelosi’s filibuster focused on securing protections for young undocumented immigrants. [WaPost]

Topping the news: Rob Porter, White House staff secretary and former chief of staff to Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, resigned Wednesday after allegations of spousal abuse surfaced. [Trib] [DNews]
