This Utah resort now lets kids ski for free

Eagle Point Resort joins two other resorts that don’t charge children 12-under for access to their slopes

Spring break fun may have just gotten cheaper.

Eagle Point Resort announced Tuesday that it will no longer charge children ages 12-under to access its slopes for skiing or snowboarding. The new policy begins March 22 and will be upheld throughout at least the 2024-25 season.

The move gives Utah three resorts where kids 12-under can ski or snowboard for free. The other two are Nordic Valley, near Eden, and Brian Head, near Cedar City. Both of those resorts are operated by Mountain Capital Partners and require children to obtain a free Power Kids season pass, which is good at any MCP-run resort.

Kids 6 and under ski and ride free at Powder Mountain and Snowbird, though PowMow will lower that to age 4 next season. Kids 5 and under can ski free at Sundance, while Park City Mountain, Snowbasin and Solitude set the bar at 4 years old.

Several other Utah resorts offer free skiing for kids as a perk for pass holders or with the purchase of an adult lift ticket.

Eagle Point is an independent resort located just outside of Beaver. It operates Friday through Monday through most of the winter but has transitioned to its Friday to Sunday schedule for the rest of the 2023-24 season.

Anyone who buys a 2024-25 season pass, which starts at $499 for adults, can ski for free for the remainder of the season.

Eagle Point has set April 7 as its closing day.
