(San Francisco Baykeeper) An aerial photo of the Levin-Richmond Terminal in Richmond, Calif. where Utah-produced coal is piled before being loaded on vessels bound for Japan. Coal will be phased out at this terminal by the end of 2026. At a proposed terminal under development in nearby Oakland, however, coal shipments remain on the table after an agreement between the city of Oakland and port developers fell apart. The issue could be resolved in a lawsuit set for trial in July.
