Utah educators: What are the biggest challenges in schools today? The Tribune wants to know.

As the 2026 legislative session approaches, The Salt Lake Tribune wants to hear from Utah educators.

Proposals aimed at addressing literacy, absenteeism, school security and student cellphone use are already drafted, with lawmakers indicating more are in the works. At least one bill aims to tighten existing restrictions on “sensitive materials” in schools, too.
