A man and a woman were found shot to death early Monday in West Valley City in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide.
West Valley City police say they believe Francisco Javier Tapia, 51, shot and killed his wife, Monica Tapia, also 51, and then fatally shot himself at their home at 3488 S. Park Vista Drive (5120 West).
Another person who lives in the home found the Tapias about 5:30 a.m. Monday and called 911, said West Valley City police spokeswoman Roxanne Vainuku. Vainuku would not say what the relationships was between the Tapias and the third person, or whether that person was an adult or a child.
Vainuku said police had a history of domestic violence reports at the home.
About 8:45 a.m., a man and a woman — their faces covered — were seen being escorted out of the home by police officers.
Vainuku said the couple were relatives of the deceased who had come to the scene earlier.
"We are not seeking a suspect and have no one in custody," she said.
