Cops hunt 2 suspects who roughed up employees in Layton bank

A violent holdup of a Layton bank Friday morning had northern Utah law enforcement on the hunt for two suspects posing as security personnel.

Layton police Detective Sgt. Alex Davis said the suspects, both described as black male adults, were clad in security guard type clothing when they entered the Key Bank at 999 N. Hill Field Road.

The two demanded money from bank employees, at one point assaulting at least two of them. No employees were seriously hurt, though one was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Davis said.

"No weapons were seen during the robbery. However, suspects told bank employees they were armed," Dvis said.

After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the two fled the store and drove off in a gold, four-door passenger car with tinted rear windows.

The first suspect was described as a hefty 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-3. He wore sunglasses, a hat and black vest bearing "SECURITY" logos, black pants, a black long sleeve shirt, black gloves with white emblem/markings and a gold-colored badge on his chest.

The second suspect was 6-foot to 6-foot-4, and also wore security guard-like clothing similar to the first suspect.
