Judge dismisses suit from family of Utah physician who killed self after artifacts interrogation, ‘false felony’

Ruling • Family alleged abuses by law agents during raids related to suspected artifacts trafficking.

This half-inch pendant is the only artifact James Redd was charged with possessing as a result of Operation Cerberus, BLM's undercover sting operation that led to the arrest of Redd and two dozen others in 2009. Federal officials appraised the tiny bird effigy at more than $1,000, elevating its possession to a felony, while other experts deemed it a trinket worth about $75.
