A Utah woman accused of lying to police after her boyfriend allegedly beat her 2-year-old son to death over potty training is weighing a plea deal in the case.
The Ogden Standard-Examiner reports that a lawyer for 23-year-old Jasmine Bridgeman said during a Monday hearing that she is considering an offer from prosecutors.
Ronald Fujino did not specific the terms of the deal.
Bridgeman has pleaded not guilty in 2nd District Court to one count of second-degree felony obstruction of justice.
Her 34-year-old boyfriend Joshua Schoenenberger is facing an aggravated murder charge in the death of 2-year-old James Siger Jr. in May.
Prosecutors say he died of internal injuries after Schoenenberger got angry and stepped on the boy because he had soiled his diaper instead of using the toilet.
