An August preliminary hearing has been set for Emile Hirsch, a film actor charged with putting a studio executive in a choke hold and dragging her across a nightclub table while in Utah this year for the Sundance Film Festival.
Hirsch, 30, is charged in 3rd District Court with third-degree felony aggravated assault and class C misdemeanor intoxication for the Jan. 25 episode.
A preliminary hearing to determine if there is evidence to advance the case to trial is scheduled for Aug. 17 before Judge Kara Petit in Summit County.
The woman Hirsch is accused of assaulting is Daniele Bernfeld, an executive for the Paramount Pictures subsidiary Insurge Pictures.
Hirsch's lawyer, Robert Offer, has said the actor was drinking alcohol and doesn't remember what happened that night. Offer also said in March that Hirsch had checked into rehab within days of the incident.
Hirsch is best known for his "Into the Wild" role. He also appeared in Universal's Navy SEAL drama "Lone Survivor," Peter Berg's account of a disastrous 2005 military operation in Afghanistan.
Hirsch was at Sundance for the premiere of the drama "Ten Thousand Saints," in which he appears alongside Ethan Hawke and Asa Butterfield.
