New restaurants, clothing stores, and more: New businesses and construction projects happening now

Update on 29 projects in St. George, Washington, Hurricane and Santa Clara.

With so much happening all over Southern Utah, it sure is tough to keep up. That’s why The Southern Utah Tribune has partnered with Macrae Heppler, who publishes a newsletter and video series called “What’s Happening in Southern Utah.” Stay up to date with all the new business and commercial development through his videos along with his monthly newsletter. Here’s a list below of what’s happening this month:

St. George area:

  • Masabor Tortillas — Now open at 922 E. Brigham Road in the Desert Hills Plaza.
  • Club Pilates — New location now open at 922 E. Brigham Road in Desert Hills Plaza!
  • Clubhouse Cards — New location now open at 2491 S. River Road
  • Crimson Heights — In the works on their newest building for behavior health services at 691 S 300 E.
  • Simister Orthodontics — Now open at 6025 S. River Road, Unit B2.
  • Johnson Pediatric Dentistry — Now open alongside Simister Ortho at 6025 S. River Road.
  • VCBO Architecture — New office now open at 1333 S. Auto Mall Dr. in Commerce Pointe off Exit 6.
  • Hobby Lobby — Now open at 801 S. Bluff St. in St. George Place.
  • Christensen’s — The department store is officially in the works at St. George Place as well. The plan is to be open in the next couple months.
  • Classy Nails — Also in the works at St. George Place. The plan is to be open in the next few months.
  • Uptown Cheapskate — Also recently signed at St. George Place. Don’t have a timeframe just yet but it is underway.
  • Bath and Body Works — Also just signed at St. George Place. Don’t have a timeframe yet but it is underway.
  • Fiesta Fun — In the works on a new expansion that will nearly double the space! Looking at early summer completion.
  • Red Rock Hockey Club — Working on their second hockey rink at Snow Park. Looking to be done by spring 2026 at 300 E. 900 South.
  • Dixie High School — New vocational building looking to be done just in time for next school year. Located at 350 E. 700 South.
  • Built Gym — Now open at 1572 S Dixie Dr.
  • Biscuit Bus — New storefront opening beginning of February at 974 W. Sunset Blvd.
  • Mountain America Credit Union — Located at 1476 W. Sunset Blvd.
  • Washington area:

  • Marriott Residence Inn — Now open at 84 Primavera Lane just north of Exit 10. They also have a restaurant and bar open to the public named Back 9 Bistro.
  • Hurricane area:

  • Great Greek Mediterranean Grill — Now in the works in the Ace Hardware parking lot. Construction is underway and should be open in the next few months.
  • Slurpin’ Ramen — Also in the works in the Ace parking lot. Construction has begun and should be open in the next few months.
  • Applebee’s — Now open at 960 W. State St.
  • Culver’s — Now in the works at the old Ace Hardware building. They plan to tear it down and will begin soon to make way for Culver’s.
  • Pioneer Floor Coverings — Newest location now openat 943 W. Square Top Lane.
  • Zion Patio by Ahi’s — Breaking ground soon! They have purchased the old red barn at 258 W. State St. Their plan is to build a two-story building with a bar upstairs and family-friendly restaurant downstairs, and they’re hoping to start construction soon.
  • Yu Kitchen Asian Cuisine — Now open at 306 E. 500 North.
  • Zeppes Italian Ice & Custard — Now open at 306 E. 500 North, #37.
  • Canyon Eatery — Coming soon! Located at 495 E. 800 North.
  • Santa Clara:

  • Sweet Sage Coffee Co — Now open at 2275 Santa Clara Dr.
