French pastries, Italian ice, bike rentals and more: What’s coming to southern Utah this spring

Update on 17 projects in St. George, Washington, Hurricane and Springdale.

With so much happening all over Southern Utah, it sure is tough to keep up. That’s why The Southern Utah Tribune has partnered with Macrae Heppler, who publishes a newsletter and video series called “What’s Happening in Southern Utah.” Stay up to date with all the new business and commercial development through his videos along with his monthly newsletter. Here’s a list below of what’s happening this month:

St. George area:

  • Back 9 Golf - Another new studio now open at 1397 W. Sunset Blvd, #105.
  • Mountain America Credit Union — Now open at 5055 S. Desert Canyon Parkway.
  • Outback Steakhouse — Now being renovated at 250 Red Cliffs Dr. in the Shoppes at Zion. They are still open for business as they undergo construction.
  • Custom Class — Serving families looking to customize their children’s education at 57 N. 500 East, it facilitates classes and workshops including services for home school families.
  • Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt — Now open at 1491 S. River Road, Unit 3.
  • Washington area:

  • BrickHouse Auto & Performance — Now open at 1460 E. Washington Dam Road, Suite 4.
  • Hurricane area:

  • Dann’s Fishing — Now open at 545 W. State St., #4. They’ve got everything from bait, tackle, and equipment for both local water and saltwater.
  • Timeless Moments Rentals — Now open at 545 W. State St., #5, providing wedding decor, tea party supplies, mobile soda bar and more.
  • V.I.B.E Therapeutics — Now open at 545 W. State St., #6, offering a variety of therapies by a licensed clinical social worker.
  • The Cravory — Replacing Pick Me Up Drinks at 525 W. State St., Suite 1A. They still have all the same drinks, cookies and popcorn that Pick Me Up did, along with more. The drive thru will be redone starting Jan. 5.
  • Springdale area:

  • Free Wheels E Bike Rentals — Now open at 1458 Zion Park Blvd.
  • Bonrue Bakery — New location will be announced soon.
  • Oscars Gift Shop — Taking over the Old Bonrue location next to their restaurant. The plan is to be open by February.
  • Iceberg Drive Inn — Under construction at 849 Zion Park Blvd. where Zion Park Laundry used to be. The plan is to be open by the spring.
  • Hikers Square — New retail and restaurant development in the works at 839 Zion Park Blvd. It will include six buildings with a total of 27,000 square feet, and the plan is to tear down the current buildings in the next couple of months.
  • Le Macaron French Pastries Zion — Now open at 205 Zion Park Blvd.
  • Desert Ice at Canyon Village — Opened in 2022 as a truck and now building their own building. They’ve got made-from-scratch Italian ice, organic dairy ice cream, sourdough soft pretzels and more. Plan is to be open in the spring.
