Note to readers • We are collaborating with southern Utah foodie Ryanne Day to bring you information about the new restaurants she profiles on her popular Instagram account St. George Eats, where she is occasionally paid for her posts. Here are 12 new restaurants she has profiled since October.
Cactus ’N Cream Coffee 705 N Bluff St, St. George
Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Washington Farmers Market on Saturdays
If you’ve driven past Alfredo’s or Rapid Cycling lately, you’ve probably seen a bright Pink retro coffee trailer glowing in the parking lot like a little caffeine beacon calling your name.
This old-school trailer has been completely transformed into the CUTEST magical coffee spot covered in colorful Cactus ’N Cream logos, and the happiest pink backdrop for your morning pick-me-up.
And now the drinks. I tried a few and WOW:
YumBerry Bowl 750 Merrill Road, Washington
Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
(Courtesy Ryanne Day) YumBerry Bowl recently opened in Washington.
Even on a cloudy day YumBerry Bowl brings a little sunshine to your soul.
These bowls are all natural, gluten free, dairy free, and made with no refined or added sugar. Pure, clean, feel good energy in a cup.
The Outback Bowl tasted like açai meets chocolate peanut butter heaven. So creamy, refreshing, and packed with superfoods.
The Hawaiian was bursting with color and flavor with açai, gluten-free granola, peaches, raspberries, strawberries, drizzled with honey, and topped with bee pollen and coconut flakes.
YumBerry Bowl is serving up wholesome ingredients, real fruit, beautiful colors, and the kind of food that just makes you feel good from the inside out.
The Breakfast House 1487 S Silicon Way Ste A1, St. George
Don’t be deceived by the name. They are that and so much more! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a spicy kick.
Here’s what we ordered:
Gigi Gelati 1255 W. Sunset Blvd, Unit 2, St. George.
Monday-Thursday, 12-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 12 p.m.-12 a.m.; Sunday, 12-8 p.m.
(Courtesy Ryanne Day) Gigi Gelati recently opened in St. George.
Have you ever had true Italian gelati???
I stopped by Gigi Gelati place for a sweet treat and it is something special. You feel like you’ve just stepped into a European gelato shop right here in St. George.
Handcrafted in small batches, Gigi Gelati is all about pure joy and quality. Every scoop is made in house with the finest ingredients and a touch of joy — smooth, balanced, and beautifully pure.
The chocolate fountain is such a fun touch and the way they crafted the gelato is like nothing I’ve ever seen! It literally is a piece of art when they’re done. That you gotta eat fast.
From the vegan Wild Berry Bliss, to the creamiest chocolate classics, there’s a little treat for everyone — including gluten-free and dairy-free options.
Meraki Greek Grill (Second Location) 3478 Pioneer Parkway, Santa Clara UT 84765;
Also at 473 S. River Road, Ste 2, St. George
Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
(Courtesy Ryanne Day) Steak Kalamakia at Meraki Greek Grill, which opened a second location in Washington County.
Every plate at the second Utah location of Meraki Grill looked like art — crispy, colorful, and made with so much attention to detail that you start feasting with your eyes before the first bite.
The Athenian Chicken Sandwich was fit for a goddess. The Meraki Steak Burger (featured in Forbes) was a dream. The Greek Salad Wrap packed all the Mediterranean freshness. We devoured the Shrimp Santorini appetizer.
There was so much food we couldn’t finish it all and still left smiling.
Yokoso Japanese Cuisine 88 N. 3400 West, Ste 1, Hurricane
Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. (435) 922-0631.
Yokoso is the newest Japanese and sushi restaurant in Washington County and it’s something special. Tucked away near the Hurricane Walmart, this reservation-only spot keeps it intentionally small so they can deliver outstanding service and ultra-fresh fish flown in weekly.
Here’s what we tried (and LOVED):
Yokoso means “welcome” in Japanese — exactly how it feels walking in.
Zeppe’s Italian Ice (Second location) 1812 W Sunset Blvd, #2, St. George.
Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Closed Sundays.
Also at 1013 E. 700 South, St. George. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Closed Sundays.
The second Zeppe’s in St. George is officially open on Sunset Boulevard next to the UPS Store.
The new shop is located in the original Zeppe’s spot but is now remodeled and offers more custard and Dole Whip options with that Italian ice. They also have pretzels, donuts and fun seasonal flavors.
Short Creek Spirits 70 W. Township Ave., Colorado City, Ariz.
Tastings: Thursday-Sunday, 2–8 p.m. Closed Tuesday-Wednesday. Walk-ins only.
(Courtesy Ryanne Day) Short Creek Spirits recently opened in Colorado City, Ariz.
Did you know there’s a distillery right down the road in Short Creek?
Distilleries aren’t the easiest businesses to open, but Short Creek Spirits made it happen right across the border in Colorado City, Ariz.
Their secret? Pure Water Canyon spring water.
Much of the process is crafted locally, with a mission to bring people together to share stories, laugh, and heal.
Riggatti’s Wood Fire Pizza (New Location) 1091 N. Bluff Street, Suite 1002, St. George
Also open at 28 N. 300 West, Washington. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
(Courtesy Ryanne Day) A pizza from Riggatti's Wood Fire Pizza, which opened in a second location in St. George.
Riggatti’s Wood Fire Pizza has a new home at Sunset Corner. The new space is bright, open, and full of character — yes, there’s a Vespa flying through the ceiling.
What we got:
Marco’s Pizza 1543 S. River Road, Suite 103, St. George
Monday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m.
Marco’s Pizza is officially open in St. George.
Menu favorites:
Spitz 1543 S. River Road, Unit 6, St. George
Sunday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
Would you eat lamb?
We went to the new Spitz in St. George (at River Crossing complex) and it did not disappoint.
We ordered the Berliner Bowl, Sweet Potato Fries, Doner Salad (beef + lamb), and the Quinoa Side Salad. Every bite was packed with flavor.
Bright, bold, playful vibe with pink accents and fun details. Bowls, salads, wraps, fries — something for everyone.
If you haven’t been yet, put this one on your list.
Twisted Sugar 3663 Pioneer Parkway #4, Santa Clara
Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-9 p.m.; Friday, 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; Saturday, 9 am.-10 p.m. Closed Sundays.
(Courtesy Ryanne Day) Twisted Sugar recently opened in Santa Clara.
Twisted Sugar is officially open in Santa Clara!
We got a sneak peek of the cookies and they’re crazy good! Think melt in your mouth with frosting on your fingers
They’ve got gluten-free sugar cookies, and you tell them which cookie you want and they’ll customize it on top of your gluten-free cookie. I tried the Banana Cream Pie cookie and fell in love, and the one with lime? Next level.
We also tried the Dr. Knievel, a perfectly balanced soda that’s sweet, creamy, and dangerously addicting, and the Mango Twister, a rich, creamy shake style drink that tastes like pure sunshine.
And yes, there’s a drive thru. Consider yourself warned.
