Armed suspect shot by U.S. Marshals while fleeing West Valley City home

Officials have not shared information on the suspect or why the warrant was being served.

A suspect was shot and critically wounded by U.S. Marshals after attempting to flee a West Valley City home late Thursday.

At around 9 p.m., a task force with the U.S. Marshals Service was serving an arrest warrant for the St. George man at the home in the area of 3900 South 5600 West, when the man fled the scene through a back door while armed with a handgun.

As he attempted to flee, the suspect was shot by a member of the task force. The unidentified suspect was transported to the hospital in critical condition.
