How long is your commute? The Tribune wants to know.

The Salt Lake Tribune wants to hear from Utahns about how long it takes them to travel to work and why.

(Bethany Baker | The Salt Lake Tribune) Traffic drives down South Main Street in Tooele on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023. Tooele County is one of six in Utah where more than 10% of workers have a commute of at least an hour.

More than 250,000 Utahns travel more than 30 minutes to get to work, and more than 75,000 commute more than an hour.

Of the people whose commute is at least an hour, most live in counties along the Wasatch Front, where housing prices are pushing people out of city centers.

The Salt Lake Tribune wants to hear from people about their decisions to balance housing prices and other cost-of-living and quality-of-life factors with a daily commute.

Do you make enough to live in the community where you work, or did you look for housing in a city or county over?

Were you willing to commute longer to get a cheaper mortgage or rent payment? Or are you cutting back on other expenses to live closer to work?

We want to hear about it. A survey is available below and at https://forms.gle/2GNC8LdxBgyZmpkB9.
