Man dies after 30-foot fall in Arches National Park
Rescue efforts unsuccessful for New Jersey man who fell on Devils Garden Trail.

A 68-year-old man from Paramus, New Jersey, died the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 8 after falling approximately 30 feet near the Black Arch Overlook on Devils Garden Trail in Arches National Park.
National Park Service rangers responded to a report of CPR in progress on the trail early that morning.
Personnel from the Grand County Sheriff’s Department, Grand County EMS, Classic Air Medical and the Department of Public Safety also arrived at the scene, but despite resuscitation efforts, the man was pronounced dead.
The Grand County Sheriff’s Office and the National Park Service are investigating the incident. No further information is available at this time.
